Scientist Downstream Develpment / Process Manager (m/w/d)
As part of our group Process Science DSP, we are seeking a Scientist / Process Manager. The Scientist / Process Manager will be in charge of the downstream processes of our customers’ APIs throughout the complete process development. This comprises the following key responsibilities
Job Description
- Design and development of scalable downstream processes from bench to commercial scale for antibodies, fusion proteins and naturally occurring human proteins (enzymes, hormones, …)
- Transfer of customer downstream processes to the Rentschler process format
These responsibilities will be assumed by actively carrying out and managing the following tasks:
- Scientific lead in the development of downstream processes enabling subsequent GMP production
- Transfer of established downstream processes and adaption to Rentschler´s production environment needs
- Consulting our customers in subject matter-specific project strategy focused on early product development phase and further accompanying them through the product lifecycle
- Cooperative communication, representation, and technical discussion with our customers in “face-to-face meetings”, conference calls, etc.
- Technical supervision of lab technicians and engineers in DSP development
- Scientific advice for manufacturing science and technology team (scale up to internal and external production sites, deviations, changes, process validation)
- Compile and review protocols, reports, and responsibility for adhering timelines according to overall project plans
- Subject matter expert in an interdisciplinary and cross-functional team with colleagues from production, upstream process development, quality control, quality assurance, regulary affairs and innovation
- Participate in innovation and internal projects for driving progress of the group / company
- Review relevant chapters of CMC dossiers (IND/IMPD and BLA/MAA)
Requirements
- Deep knowledge in the field of DSP development preferably using scalable technologies in context of industrial pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Scientific education and understanding of chromatographic processes, filtration techniques, protein chemistry and analytical methods
- Strong and collaborative communication skills, team spirit, flexibility and outcome-oriented working
- High level of personal initiative and organizing skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset, economic and analytical thinking
- Fluent in German and English
